In a breathtaking setting on the shore of scenic Frenchman's Bay; Sonogee Rehabilitation and Living Center offers several levels of care, from skilled nursing transitional care between hospital and home, to long term nursing care, rehabilitation, and residential care, all under one roof. Additionally, we provide respite care for temporary stays, and hospice services to those with a terminal illness. Care is individualized with input from the resident/patient attending physician, and our multi-disciplinary team. The facility is fully licensed and certified to accept payment from Medicare, Medicaid, long term care insurance, manage care, and private funds. |

A SPECIAL
NORTH COUNTRY ATMOSPHERE
Because
we believe that the quality of life is as important as the quality of care, we
have created an atmosphere that's both comfortable and stimulating with a
distinctive North Country touch.
Originally the estate of one of America's wealthiest families, Sonogee retains
an ambience of Victorian grandeur with tastefully appointed bedrooms and common
areas. Its exquisite features include a marble staircase, vaulted ceilings and a
foyer that opens onto the ocean. The grounds are beautiful; the setting,
peaceful, and many rooms offer an oceanside view.
Meals
are nutritious and appealing. Our menus are carefully developed by a registered
dietitian, food service supervisor, and the residents and patients themselves.
ENJOYING LIFE
Sonogee
Rehabilitation and Living Center offers many opportunities for social
relationships. Our stimulating, well rounded activities program ranges from
current events discussion groups and exercise classes to barbecues and films. We
hold frequent outings in our wheelchair accessible van for lunch, shopping, and
special events.
Sonogee Rehabilitation and Living Center also offers optional amenities such as
private phone lines, cable television, and in-house hair stylist services.
DIRECTIONS:
From Ellsworth: Take Route 3 to Bar Harbor. Sonogee Rehabilitation and Living
Center is on the left, beyond the entrance to Acadia National park and a quarter
mile before "The Cat" ferry terminal.
