A SPECIAL ATMOSPHERE Under the guidance of North Country Associates, Mountain Heights has created an atmosphere, which is spacious and comfortable. The original building, known as the “Baxter House,” is a three-story mansion built at the turn of the 20th century, now converted into apartments. Care has been taken to maintain the architectural and decorative integrity of the home. A new addition accommodates the nursing facility, which is also tastefully decorated. Because we believe that the quality of life is as important as the quality of care, our philosophy has guided our commitment to a friendly and welcoming approach that is so important in a “close-knit” community.
ENJOYING LIFE Mountain Heights offers many opportunities for social relationships. Our stimulating and well-rounded activities program ranges from boating excursions on Shin Pond to seasonal picnics and cookouts, enjoying the wraparound front porch, musical entertainment, outings to restaurants, games, exercise programs, cooking, and chapel services. Visitors and volunteers provide valuable assistance and a strong link to the community. Meals are nutritious and appealing. Our menus are carefully developed by a registered dietitian, food service supervisor, and the residents themselves. Optional amenities include private phone lines, cable television, and in-house hair stylist services. DIRECTIONS: From I-95, take Exit 264 (Old Exit 58) in Sherman. Follow Route 11 north to Patten. Turn right onto the Houlton Road by the Methodist church. Mountain Heights is located one-half mile on the right.
