A North Country Facility

Located in Fairfield, Maine, five miles north of Waterville, Maine.  Klearview Manor has become a statewide leader in providing family-style, fully integrated care to persons with developmental challenges.

The reputation of Klearview

The facility is known throughout our community, region and state for assisting people with developmental challenges to live, love and learn to the best of their abilities.  We are dedicated to helping the residents achieve their highest potential by enhancing people’s self-esteem, encouraging choice making, facilitating communication, and developing independence in all aspects of their lives.

The history of Klearview

Klearview Manor was opened in 1975 as a licensed nursing facility for infants and children with mental retardation.  Known originally as the “Klearview Manor Pediatric Center.”  Over the past 25 years Klearview has evolved to further increase our level of care available to the residents.

Since 1984 Klearview Manor has been owned and operated by North Country Associates.  It is licensed under the direction of the Maine Department of Mental Health, Mental Retardation and Substance Abuse Services.  Klearview Manor is licensed as an Intermediate Care Facility for persons with Mental Retardation or ICF/MR.

The residents at Klearview have acute health needs as well as developmental challenges.  Our home provides the highest quality 24-hour nursing care to its residents.  Our nursing team is comprised of professional and licensed nurses supervising a strong team of dedicated and knowledgeable certified nursing assistants.  In conjunction with the nursing department, our facility is fortunate to have a group of experts in the field of Habilitation Services.  This department is responsible for providing active treatment on a daily basis to the residents so that they will gain the highest level of independence in communication skills, activities of daily living, and social skills.

As our residents have matured into adulthood, many have transitioned from acquiring a traditional academic education to working in the community, supported by a job coach.  Our facility has become the pioneers in developing individualized Community Day Habilitation Services.  We also provide extensive programs in physical, occupational, and speech therapy on an individualized basis.

Our Home

Upon admission, residents and their families become part of a unique and extended family atmosphere.  All our staff is truly dedicated to making the lives better for each individual that considers Klearview their home.

Upon visiting Klearview you will see that every aspect of the building is aimed towards making this a completely functional facility for those individuals that have physical limitations.

Visitors are welcome at Klearview Manor.
